Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Sebastián Molinari (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with PxGuard — the PxGuard browser extension and the website at https://pxguard.ai (together, the “Service”). We built PxGuard for developers, and we treat your data the way we’d want ours treated: collect the minimum, be explicit about it, and never sell it.
What We Collect
- Account data. When you create an account, we collect your email address and basic profile information through our authentication provider.
- Page scan data. When you run an AI Scan, the extension builds a structured summary of the current page — element selectors, computed styles, and accessibility attributes — and sends it to our API for analysis. We do not capture screenshots, keystrokes, form values, or page text beyond what is needed to analyze structure and accessibility.
- Usage and technical data. Basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps, used to operate and secure the Service.
- Billing data. Payments are processed by our Merchant of Record (see Subprocessors). We do not store your full card details on our servers.
The Inspection Tools Run Locally
The free overlay tools — spacing & appearance, accessibility, image inspection, typography, and tab order — run entirely inside your browser. They read the page in place and render overlays on it. No data from these tools is sent to us or to any third party. They work offline.
The AI Scan and Third-Party AI Processing
The AI Scan is the one feature that sends data off your device. When you run it, the structured page summary described above is sent to our API, which forwards it to Anthropic (the provider of the Claude AI model) to generate your report. Anthropic processes this data to return findings and does not use it to train its models on our behalf.
If you are not comfortable sending a particular page’s structure to an AI provider, simply don’t run the AI Scan on that page — the local inspection tools remain fully available.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide the Service — generate scan reports, store your scan history, and manage your account.
- To process subscriptions and payments through our Merchant of Record.
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
- To communicate with you about your account, security, and important changes.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your page scan data for advertising.
Subprocessors
We rely on a small set of trusted providers to operate the Service. Each one only receives the data needed for its function:
Data Retention
We keep account and scan data for as long as your account is active, and only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Your Rights).
International Data Transfers
Our subprocessors may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States and the European Union. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We do not “sell” personal information as defined by the CCPA.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
PxGuard’s use of information received from Google APIs and the Chrome extension platform adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Page data accessed by the extension is used solely to provide the inspection and AI Scan features described to you, is not transferred to third parties except as needed to provide those features (see Subprocessors), and is never sold or used for advertising.
Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and scoped access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you of incidents where required.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
